Do you have a list of sites that you access often? For example accessing your Facebook account or browsing Amazon, and so on…

Well – now you don’t have to type in the address bar each time the URL because Site Launcher will do all of this only by pressing a key combination.

exampleLauncher

SiteLauncher is an add-on for Firefox that gives you a super-quick way to to open your favorite websites using only your keyboard. One special hotkey brings up the Launcher, followed by a unique key to launch a site.

SiteLauncher is especially useful as a super-fast method for opening websites you use often throughout the day, for example, many people would probably want to add Google, Gmail, Facebook, and Twitter to SiteLauncher – what sites to include is entirely up to you.

Compared to the alternatives (standard bookmarks, the address bar, etc) the Launcher is the fastest, and most convenient way to navigate to your frequently needed sites (at least, that’s what we think). SiteLauncher also minimizes clutter, because the Launcher only appears when you press the hotkey.

January 2009 Calendars

By Chris on January 3, 2009

Hello there everyone. Happy New Year.

It’s January 2009 and most of us like to have on the desktop a nice calendar that will help us remember the current date [I always have this problem :D]

Smashing Magazine did a nice list [like they do every month] with some January 2009 Calendars:

Read the article ‘till the end because it contains some extra wallpapers that aren’t in Smashing Magazine’s list ;)

Here are some examples [my favorites]:

Translate Google Maps Reviews

By Chris on December 30, 2008

If you are a Google Maps fan, then you probably know about the reviews made there, right?

For example let’s search for Paris Indian Restaurant. The result will look like this:

paris1

If we click on the A point from the map we’ll see the following popup:

paris2

As you can see for this location there are 19 reviews. Click on the reviews and you will see them:

tinyMCE_screen I like using tinyMCE, I really do. But lately they added to many functionalities – too many I can say.

It’s true, you can disable them, but the package is bigger day by day [actually version by version] – for example, now the tinyMCE package has around 2.8 MB – so its pretty big :|

tinyMCE_size

Today I found a simple & clean solution made by Corpocrat. They offer 2 scripts – one for the BBCode [demo] and one for HTML Markup [demo].

The interface and simple & clean:

taeditor-demo

total size is around 5KB and you can do enough with it :)

Features:

  • No iFrames
  • Fast loading and lightweight (code just under 2kb)
  • Works in IE and Firefox
  • No popup html window for inserting hyperlinks.
  • Easy to integrate
  • Images [B / I / U / link / …] can be easily changed
  • Inserts quick html code

I didn’t had time to look at the code, but if it’s simple to extend you can add nice functionalities to it [eg: add a button for inserting YouTube videos]
